Embark on an enriching contract opportunity as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, supporting students with visual impairments across multiple school sites in the Savannah area. This assignment runs from late July 2026 through May 2027, offering a fulfilling role shaping student independence and mobility skills throughout the academic year.

In this position, you’ll make a lasting difference for students in grades 2 through High School, working within a collaborative educational environment. You’ll have autonomy to create your own flexible schedule that meets both the needs of your students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and your professional requirements.

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Active COMS certification through AVCREP
• Valid Georgia PSC (GaPSC) Teaching Certificate
• Experience providing orientation and mobility instruction to children or adolescents preferred
• Comfortable working onsite across multiple campuses
• Strong organizational skills to effectively schedule and serve students on varying IEPs

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver onsite orientation and mobility assessments and instruction to VI students from 2nd grade to high school
• Travel between assigned school locations to provide direct services
• Develop, implement, and adjust lesson plans tailored to each student’s IEP goals
• Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with district protocols
• Advocate for student independence and inclusion within school and community settings
