AI Software Engineer Lead

About the Role AlphaLife Sciences is seeking an AI Engineer Leader to drive AI innovation for new projects in clinical workflows. You will lead a small team of AI engineers, provide technical guidance, and help turn cutting‑edge AI/LLM technologies into practical solutions that accelerate processes, extract insights, and support clinical innovation. We’re looking for a hands‑on, proactive technologist who is passionate about AI, curious about new technologies, and capable of mentoring junior engineers in a fast‑paced startup environment. Responsibilities Lead a small team of AI engineers and guide their development on project tasks. Design, develop, and prototype AI/LLM solutions for real‑world clinical workflows. Collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross‑functional teams to implement innovative AI solutions. Mentor junior engineers and support skill development and productivity. Stay up to date with cutting‑edge AI/ML research and apply relevant advances to projects. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field. 3–7 years of experience in AI/ML or software development with AI/LLM projects. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C/C++, or similar languages. Hands‑on experience with generative AI, LLM frameworks, or other modern AI/ML technologies. Proactive, curious, and able to work in a fast‑paced startup environment. Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Nice‑to‑have Experience in clinical workflows, clinical trials, or life sciences applications. Data analysis, cloud development, or distributed systems experience. Experience deploying AI solutions in production.
