HVAC Service Technician II

We are seeking a Service Technician II to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The role involves working on a variety of equipment such as large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, fan coils, water source heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes. Location & Work Setting Montgomery, AL – Onsite Responsibilities Perform maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, belts, and lubrication. Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring for fan coils, water source heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes. Maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems and prevent premature or unexpected breakdowns or callbacks. Perform warranty service applications by inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality of HVAC equipment and components. Direct Level I technicians through hands‑on demonstrations of troubleshooting and repair steps. Introduce Level III technicians to centrifugal rebuilds through training received from Lead technicians. Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner. Interact with customers by providing status reports during each service call and explaining technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off‑site learning modules, and Daikin Learning; maintain required certifications and develop new skill sets. Maintain a clean work area and uphold all standards, policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High School Diploma or GED. Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. Rotational Emergency Call Support as required. Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district. Work visa sponsorship not available. Preferred Qualifications Commercial HVAC industry experience. EPA approved Universal Technician Certification. OSHA 10 certification within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding). Current first aid / CPR card. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
