Billing Clerk — San Juan Capistrano, CA (Onsite | Full-Time)

Pay: $22–$25/hr

Summary: Under the Revenue Cycle Manager, this onsite Billing Clerk captures medical/behavioral health/dental encounters, submits and reconciles claims/EOBs, and supports the clinic team with billing administration and patient resource referrals.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter and confirm encounters in the practice management system on time
• Verify insurance and ensure accurate demographics/coverage info
• Ensure proper coding (ICD-10/diagnosis/procedures/services) and review charge history
• Prepare, submit, and re-submit claims (electronic/manual) ; correct denials/edits
• Post billing activity and support month-end close deadlines
• Cover billing phone lines and provide general admin support as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Knowledge of medical terminology and  ICD-10 ; strong communication and organization
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment; able to maintain patient confidentiality
• Reliable transportation; able to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends) and travel to multiple sites as needed

Preferred

• FQHC billing experience
• Practice management system experience
• Medical billing/coding certificate
