Job Title: .NET / Power BI Developer

Location: Jackson, MS

Duration: 24 Months Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced .NET / Power BI Developer to support application development, business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, and modernization initiatives. The selected candidate will develop and maintain enterprise applications, build data-driven dashboards and reports, optimize SQL-based solutions, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable technology solutions.

This role requires a strong combination of Microsoft application development, Power BI reporting, SQL database expertise, API development, and data analytics capabilities .

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

• Design, develop, enhance, and support applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and .NET Core .
• Develop and maintain internal web applications supporting agency operations.
• Build and support Web Forms, APIs, system integrations, and business applications .
• Improve application performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability.
• Apply secure coding practices and role-based access concepts.

Power BI & Reporting

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, semantic models, and visualizations .
• Create and optimize data models, measures, and calculations using DAX and Power Query .
• Develop operational and executive dashboards to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
• Improve report usability, refresh reliability, visualization quality, and data accuracy.
• Define reporting requirements, KPIs, and dashboard standards with stakeholders.

Database & Data Analytics

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, views, tables, and database objects .
• Support ETL processes, data transformation, data cleansing, and reporting automation.
• Troubleshoot data quality, reporting, and database-related issues.
• Convert raw data into actionable business insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with leadership, business units, and IT teams on modernization and reporting initiatives.
• Document system changes, technical processes, report logic, data sources, and support procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and support staff.
• Coordinate with IT teams to ensure solutions align with agency standards and support requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in software application development and programming.
• Strong hands-on experience with:

• SQL Development and Database Programming
• Experience developing and supporting:

• APIs and integrations

• Web server environments
