Barge Repair WelderEssential Job Functions:Cut, fit, and weld barge repair workReceive instructions, prints, and/or work orders for various welding and cutting jobs and carry out the assigned instructions.Maintain, repair, and fabricate equipment and work area by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.Clean and prepare surfaces to be maintained, repaired, or fabricated.Use burning/cutting equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut metals to required size and shape.Assist in developing operating policies and procedures to ensure the efficient use of resources and to maintain a safe work environment.Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all equipmentEnsure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.Report ALL incidents through company's reporting protocolSupport company safety initiativesDemonstration of knowledge of all required competenciesPerform other duties as requiredExperience Requirements:Minimum of 1 year of welding experience in a similar industrial environmentEducational Requirements:High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalentSkill Requirements:Must be able to read/write/communicate in EnglishAble to use basic math skillsMust be able to follow directionsPerforming applicable welding activitiesApplying basic operational principles and practicesDeveloping and analyzing applicable maintenance reportsWorking with other functions throughout the organizationEnsuring compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulationsCommunicating with co-workers to provide and receive directionAbility to work extended hours, including holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts as neededBe physically fit to perform all essential physical demands of this job safelyAdvocate of team conceptCommitment to customer serviceAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentMust comply with all operational directives and company policiesWork Environment:Incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain.
