Supervising Pharmacy Manager | Barboursville, West Virginia

Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a leadership role as the Interim Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist-in-Charge at a well-established hospital specializing in behavioral health. This contract opportunity offers a chance to oversee pharmacy operations, contribute to patient care, and provide critical management support during a transitional period.

Location:

Based in West Virginia with onsite presence required
Facility includes 165 licensed beds with an average daily census of 130

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
On-call coverage expected after shifts and on weekends

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all staffing and administrative duties associated with the PIC role
Oversee pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance and efficient workflow
Collaborate closely with clinical and support staff to optimize patient outcomes
Lead the pharmacy team, including 1 full-time pharmacist, multiple per diem pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians
Support order filling, delivery, and inventory management through tech support
Utilize the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation, with training provided
Maintain professional business casual dress standards on site
Receive onsite mentoring and guidance from the retiring Director of Pharmacy

Preferred Qualifications:

Active West Virginia pharmacist license required
Previous hospital pharmacy management experience, especially with Omnicell systems, is highly valued
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills suitable for administrative and clinical responsibilities
Experience in behavioral health pharmacy services is advantageous

This contract role begins August 31, 2026, and will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired. Onsite training ensures smooth transition and support throughout your assignment.
