Assistant Deli Department Manager

Position Overview The Assistant Department Deli Manager assists and supports the Deli Manager in the direction and supervision of all functions and activities of Deli Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department. This role ensures that personnel work shifts contribute to the financial best interests of the store. Responsibilities Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations and company policies regarding Deli operations, safety, and sanitation. Support financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization, while minimizing shrink and supply expense. Take customer orders accurately for prepared foods and other specialty Deli products. Assist with weekly orders to maintain adequate supply levels per store policy. Process, prepare, and package products in accordance with company policy. Maintain and enforce a clean, sanitary work environment. Complete necessary paperwork related to the Deli Department. Participate in selection, training, development, and scheduling of Deli associates. Perform tasks assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Assist in directing subordinates to implement action plans and achieve goals; promote sales through courteous customer service. Safely operate deli equipment. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions. Regular vision; occasional walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs; stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling; standing, sitting; pushing/pulling loads up to 100 lbs; tasting, smelling; handling, speaking, hearing. Physical demands include frequent standing, sitting, pushing/pulling, lifting, tasting, smelling, handling, speaking, and hearing. Experience & Qualifications Years of experience: 2-5 years in grocery store retail. High School Diploma - General Studies. Shift: 1st Shift (United States of America).
