We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med Surg/Telemetry position in Rochester, NY. This is a travel/contract role with a 12-hour night shift schedule, offering 36 guaranteed hours per week. The position requires expertise in managing patients with conditions such as osteoarthritis, fractures, and total joint replacements.Key responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and care for peripheral lines, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and wound vacs. Proficiency in Epic charting is preferred. Nurses must be adept at working with cardiac drips (non-titration), CPAP/BIPAP, and high-flow nasal cannulas, and should demonstrate competence in feeding tube management and heparin protocols.Join a supportive work environment with patient care technicians (PCTs) assisting with vital signs, glucose checks, EKGs, and daily activities. Weekend rotations are required every other weekend, and floating between like units may be necessary. This role is ideal for RNs with at least one year of experience, strong critical thinking, and adaptability skills.
