Project Manager - Mechanical Insulation

Job DescriptionPCI is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical Insulation for its PCI Kansas City 567 operations based in Kansas City, KS. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical insulation projects (pre-construction through closeout), including planning, execution, and final deliveryOversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and overall profit & loss responsibility for assigned projectsCoordinate with clients, general contractors, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution and alignment with project goalsLead and direct field operations, including labor planning, productivity tracking, and performance management of crews and supervisorsDevelop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and proactively addressing delays or risksIdentify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks, resolving jobsite issues to avoid rework, delays, or cost impactsEnsure compliance with all safety standards, company policies, and client requirements, maintaining a strong safety culture across projectsManage procurement of materials and equipment specific to mechanical insulation systems (pipe, duct, vessel insulation, etc.)Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure scope accuracy and proper installation of insulation systemsOversee change orders, RFIs, and project documentation to maintain accurate project records and financial alignmentCollaborate across multiple trades to coordinate insulation installation with mechanical systems, ensuring proper sequencing and system readinessBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to drive repeat business and project successLead project meetings, communicate updates with stakeholders, and provide clear reporting on progress, risks, and financial statusMentor and develop project engineers and field team members, supporting team growth and long-term successThis position is safety sensitiveBasic RequirementsMust have at least 3-5 years of professional experience on construction projectsMust have experience in the mechanical insulation scope of construction subcontractsStrong ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of workHas a strong record of establishing and maintaining successful vendor relationshipsDisplays excellent verbal communicationPossesses a high level of attention to detail Must have proficiency with digital construction takeoff and softwareMust be able to effectively collaborate within a teamPreferred RequirementsExperience with working with union representatives.
