About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Critical Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Center Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with general ICU skills, art lines, cardiac and other critical drips, vents, bipaps, trachs, and codes. Description: This position is for a Critical Care Registered Nurse in an ICU setting. The unit has a total of 60 beds with a Level 3 Trauma designation. The ICU patient types include General ICU, Stroke, Sepsis, Pneumonia, post-surgical, and CRRT. Experience with the specified patient types is essential. The nurse will have a patient ratio of 1:2 up to 1:3 for step-down level patients. There will be 1-2 CNAs assigned to the unit, based on census. A charge nurse will have a reduced patient assignment to provide support. Phlebotomy skills are required, and there is an IV/VAT Team available for assistance. A Resource Nurse will fulfill the role of a charge nurse. Respiratory Therapy and Clientists are present 24/7, with an Intensivist on-site from 0700-1900, seven days a week. Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Therapy services are also available. Charting will be conducted using an EMR system. Float assignments may occur to areas with ICU patients if necessary. The weekend rotation will consist of every third weekend. Holidays will be covered every other holiday, with specific shift times from 0700-1900 or 1900-0700. Scrubs will be navy blue.
