1st Shift Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY Supports our production operations by ensuring optimal performance of manufacturing equipment. In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and repairing production machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial maintenance, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintain company‑owned machinery and equipment in proper working order. Provide on‑call emergency repairs. Take control of breakdowns. Execute a plan for continued improvement of machine safety and general housekeeping. Work with crews to complete all preventative maintenance. Troubleshoot with machine operator to determine root cause of mechanical issues. Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively. Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to resolve accident‑waiting‑to‑happen forms. Maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools as a team. Duties may vary depending on location. REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent required. Electrical certification preferred. Corrugated packaging industry experience a plus. Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery. Ability to use shop tools and equipment such as drill press, shop grinders, welders, oxy‑acetylene torch. Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability with practical mechanical & electrical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Fully computer literate with Microsoft environment. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, OR ABILITIES Strong written and oral communication.
