Nashua New Hampshire is an hour northwest of Boston with all the cultural offerings and professional sports team of city life, and less than two hours from skiing and the New Hampshire Seacoast.The Successful Candidate BAE Systems is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineer to join and drive our Supplier Development Program (SDP). This individual is a self-starting leader and technical problem solver who can bridge the gap between data analysis and shop-floor execution. The ideal candidate possesses the analytical skills to identify data trends and the manufacturing engineering expertise to go on-site at suppliers and implement solutions such as process automation, tooling/fixturing improvements, and control plans.Responsibilities:Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends and focus areas that drive impactful process improvements at suppliersPlan, organize, and lead cross-functional teams through a multiphase development approach including onsite supplier events, e.g., assessments, kaizens, training, etc.Conduct onsite technical assessments of supplier manufacturing capabilities to identify bottlenecks, process gaps, or risks.Leverage manufacturing and process engineering expertise to create training and/or supplier development plans with measurements of success that benefit both the supplier and BAE SystemsCollaborate with suppliers to successfully implement and monitor the development plansPresent supplier development plans, results, and impact to key stakeholders including internal and external senior leadershipRequired Education, Experience, & SkillsBachelor's Degree and 4-6+ years of direct experience or 8-10+ years of engineering experience in lieu of degreeExperience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or New Product Introduction (NPI)Demonstrated success with process improvements such as tooling/fixture implementation, automation, yield improvement, etc.Proficiency in applying lean manufacturing tools and principles such as value stream mapping (VSM), 5S, visual factory, and other continuous improvement techniquesAbility to develop solutions to complex, ambiguous problems that require the use of ingenuity and innovationSelf-starter that motivates team members, fosters and nurtures teamworkExperience with Quality Management Systems (Ex: ISO9001/AS9100)Strong Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action experience (RCCA)Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people at all levels and in diverse settings, including senior leadershipIndependently establishes priorities and manages a complex portfolio of workExcellent presentation and communication skillsAbility to effectively navigate challenging situationsAbility to travel up to 50%Preferred Education, Experience, & SkillsBachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or industrial preferred) or technical fieldDirect experience with Supplier DevelopmentExperience creating and conducting hands on trainingExperience with Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL), specifically 7 - 10Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience (AS9145), including process flow diagrams (PFD), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and control plansConfiguration Management (EIA 649)Some experience with sourcing and execution in a regulated industry such as Aerospace/DefenseSpecial Processes (Chemical Processing, Welding, etc.) experienceLean-6Sigma experience/certification(s)Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
