Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

$2181.78/week - Job Summary: Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients in an acute or post-acute facility, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical standards. Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver individualized patient care before and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in coordination with healthcare professionals. Provide direct bedside nursing care for pre- and post-surgery patients, including medication administration and wound care. Monitor patient vitals, interpret measurements, and report adverse reactions or complications promptly. Prepare patients for procedures, educate families on post-operative care, and facilitate discharge planning. Manage medical equipment, change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed. Maintain accurate documentation of patient medical information, treatments, and progress. Qualifications: Possess a valid New York State RN License with primary source verification. Have a minimum of two years of recent Med/Surg experience in large acute care or post-acute settings. Demonstrate proficiency in physical assessment, medication administration, and wound care. Hold AHA BLS certification; ACLS required for Queens location. Experienced with telemetry monitoring and post-operative patient management.
