The posted compensation range of $33.51 - $38.31 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

As our Patient Registration Representative, you will help patients and their families navigate the healthcare system by providing a positive and clear registration experience so they can feel supported and confident in their care journey, understanding their financial responsibilities and rights. Every day you will ensure complete, accurate, and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system, including collecting accurate patient data, verifying insurance, and obtaining signatures on required forms. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, manage patient financial liabilities, follow CMS billing requirements, and comply with all regulatory standards affecting the registration process. To be successful in this role, you will possess a thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures, working knowledge of medical terminology, basic mathematics for payment calculation, intermediate to advanced computer skills, and an understanding of charity care programs. You should also have at least one year of experience in a hospital patient registration department or a related healthcare setting, with experience in requesting and processing financial payments.

• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, and Rehabilitation units.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration.
• Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicated.
• Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete.
• Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes.
• Collects and enters required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information in order to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
• Carefully reviews all information entered in ADT on pre-registered accounts. Verifies all information with patient at time of registration; corrects any errors identified.

Required

• High School Diploma/GED
• Applicable education and/or training can be used to balance a lack of experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles. Experience in requesting and processing financial payments

Preferred

• Two experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles. Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.
