Functional Safety Engineer Body & Steering Responsibilities:
- Deliver Functional Safety work products, including Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Functional Safety Concept (FSC), Safety Requirements Specification (SRS), and other related safety engineering deliverables.
- Support impact analysis activities for assigned Body and Steering features, ensuring all safety implications are properly identified and documented.
- Collaborate with Feature Systems Engineers and Systems Simulation & Robustness Engineers to develop, review, and integrate Gherkin scenarios for safety and technical requirements.
- Support requirements refinement, traceability, and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Participate in Functional Safety reviews, track action items, and provide clear evidence-based closure of safety-related concerns.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Systems, Software, Validation, and Feature Engineering to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Experience in Functional Safety Engineering for automotive embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 processes and work products, including HARA, FSC, SRS, and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) .
- Hands-on experience with MagicDraw, SysML, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and GitHub collaboration workflows.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, analysis, validation, and process efficiency improvements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with feature systems, software development, validation, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills in safety-critical automotive environments.
