Processing Operator (Entry) - 1st Shift

Job Title AM Line 5 Bake Shop Helper Location Downers Grove, Illinois Pay Base rate per hour: $23.00 Shift 1st Shift Hours Starts as early as 6:45 AM until finish. Overtime and weekend work as needed. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required. Job Summary BSH: Straightens dough in pans on moving conveyor, requiring speed and manual dexterity. Removes defective product from the line. Racks product and pans weighing up to 20 lbs. Sets guides according to pan size and makes adjustments to equipment as needed. May be called upon to assist other positions during operation and other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Decision Making Skills: Must have strong decision‑making and communication skills, utilize good judgment, resolve issues quickly, and communicate them with supervision. Fill out communication boards daily. Food Safety Awareness: Must understand and adhere to strict compliance standards related to HACCP, CTS, SOP, Safety, GMP, and JSA procedure and standards. Focus on prevention of contamination, allergen control, and lot code traceability. Formula Control: Must abide by exact formula specifications and procedures to maintain bread quality standards and label contents. Maintains work area to 5S cleanliness, housekeeping and organizational standard. Education & Experience Must possess a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods of time Use hands, fingers and arms to reach, feel product and manipulate materials and equipment Walk, stoop, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear Ability to use senses to diagnose and troubleshoot problems Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy loads on wheeled dollies Work Environment Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to vibration. May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, hot/cold temperature extremes, high industrial noise levels, forklift traffic and wet environments. Must comply with all safety regulations, support plant safety initiatives, use prescribed safety equipment such as safety eyeglasses, safety shields, gloves, earplugs, respirators, and approved footwear. Ability to deal with a changing work environment and high‑pressure situations; must work in a team environment. Job Notes This position may require overtime as deemed necessary to support operations activities. There will be a 90‑day evaluation period to ensure satisfactory performance. Must stay on the job one year. Compensation & Benefits The starting rate for this full‑time, hourly position is $23.00. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
