Union HR Generalist

Union HR Generalist / Labor Relations Specialist LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Union HR Generalist / Labor Relations Specialist for a growing organization with a represented workforce. This position will serve as a key business partner to operations leadership, employees, and union representatives, supporting employee relations, labor relations, investigations, compliance, and workforce engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a unionized environment and possess a strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and employment law. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned business units and represented employees. Partner with operations leaders to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, corrective action, and workforce planning. Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements, ensuring consistent application of contract language and company policies. Manage grievance processes, including investigations, documentation, resolution recommendations, and participation in grievance meetings. Conduct workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, attendance concerns, and disciplinary matters. Build productive relationships with union representatives and collaborate to resolve employee and labor-related issues. Support labor negotiations and preparation for collective bargaining activities. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, labor regulations, and company policies. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, employee development, and retention initiatives. Analyze employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve engagement, productivity, and workplace culture. Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and reporting while ensuring confidentiality and compliance. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of Human Resources experience within a unionized manufacturing, distribution, construction, logistics, or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, grievance administration, and employment law. Experience conducting employee relations investigations and managing disciplinary processes. Proven ability to partner with operational leadership and influence decision-making. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
