Correctional Housing Unit Manager II (S) Agency: NC Department of Adult Correction Location: Bertie Correctional Institution, Windsor, NC Responsibilities Exercise overall accountability and responsibility for the housing unit, including final approving authority on unit classification and disciplinary committees. Supervise Correctional Housing Unit Manager I’s at medium‑custody facilities and report to a Correctional Assistant Superintendent. Supervise Sergeants at close‑custody institutions and report to a Correctional Housing Unit Manager III. Evaluate inmate classifications, oversee disciplinary procedures, and ensure compliance with prison policies and procedures. Develop and maintain effective relationships with inmates, families, and staff. Qualifications High School or GED diploma plus five years of correctional experience, two of which must have been at the supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligibility for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission. Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility. Documented knowledge of prison policies, procedures and facility operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Salary $43,267.00 - $75,718.00 Benefits Health insurance options.
