Senior Azure Engineer (Staff Augmentation) / Onshore / PT-Aligned

Engagement Overview
Senior Azure Engineers to augment the existing team and support operational execution across core Azure services. These resources will be focused on Azure Hygiene, Stability, and executing Cost Management work, while delivering against a defined operational backlog that may contain evolving requirements and moderate ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute operational and remediation activities across the Azure environment.
• Maintain stability, reliability, and performance of core Azure services.
• Deliver work items from a prioritized operational backlog.

Perform hands-on implementation, configuration, and support activities, including:

• Azure networking configuration and troubleshooting
• Security control implementation and maintenance
• Governance and compliance-related activities
• Capacity planning, scaling, and performance optimization

Enforce Azure governance standards, including:

• Resource tagging compliance
• Cost management and optimization
• Operational best practices

Provide limited "keep-the-lights-on" operational support as needed while maintaining primary focus on backlog execution and continuous operational improvement.

Scope Characteristics

• Hands-on engineering and execution-focused role.
• Not responsible for solution architecture, strategic design, or future-state architecture planning.
• Work includes implementing established designs, operational enhancements, and remediation activities.
• Success is measured by consistent backlog delivery, platform stability, and operational/cost improvements.

Engagement Management

• BECU will provide day-to-day direction and oversight, including:
• Work assignment and prioritization
• Management of dependencies and trade-off decisions
• Operational guidance and execution oversight

Desired experience/qualifications

• 10+ years of experience working directly with Azure, with a focus on hygiene, optimization, governance, and cost management
• Microsoft AZ-104, AZ-700, or AZ-305 certifications are desired
• Experience working in a diverse, onshore, all-remote team
• Experience working with Kanban for work visibility and management
