Accounts Payable Supervisor

We're looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead daily AP operations, mentor a team, oversee high-volume invoice processing and payment activities, and help drive process improvements that support accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial controls.

In this role, you'll supervise accounts payable operations from invoice receipt through payment and reconciliation, review invoice coding and 2-way/3-way PO matching, oversee expense reports, manage check runs, ACH and wire payments, support month-end close activities, and partner with Procurement, Accounting, and Operations to ensure smooth workflow execution. Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the daily operations of the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, direction, and oversight.
• Review and approve accounts payable work, including invoice processing, coding, and 2-way/3-way matching to purchase orders.
• Oversee and approve employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Manage and execute check runs and payment processing, including ACH and wire payments, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
• Serve as backup support for accounts payable processing during high-volume periods or coverage gaps, performing hands-on transactional work as needed.
• Ensure all payments are processed accurately and on schedule, minimizing late payments and related issues.
• Monitor AP aging reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve vendor issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Partner with internal teams such as procurement, accounting, and operations to ensure a smooth workflow and effective communication across functions.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes, internal controls, and overall efficiency, and help implement enhancements.
• Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Maintain accurate records for accounts payable, including invoice processing, purchase order matching, and general ledger coding.
• Support full-cycle accounts payable activities, from invoice receipt through payment and reconciliation.
• Prepare and review AP-related reports, leveraging Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) for analysis and basic reporting.
• Provide customer service-oriented support to internal stakeholders and vendors, ensuring prompt and courteous responses.
• Perform data entry and verification with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years of accounts payable experience, with lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes, including full-cycle AP and 2-way/3-way match to purchase orders.
• Experience managing or mentoring a team in an accounting or accounts payable environment.
• Hands-on experience with high-volume invoice processing and payment cycles.
• Proven experience overseeing check runs and various payment methods such as ACH and wire transfers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic reporting capabilities.
• Experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on transactional work.
• Customer service-oriented mindset when working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of general ledger impact related to accounts payable transactions.
• Accurate and efficient data entry skills.

Work Environment

This role follows a standard daytime schedule, typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility on start and end times. The position operates in a professional office environment, working regularly with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel for invoice processing, reconciliations, and reporting. The work involves high-volume transactional activity, collaboration with procurement, accounting, operations, and frequent interaction with vendors. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gardnerville, NV.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
