Instructional Assistant - Lansdale, Pennsylvania

Job Description

Step into a highly rewarding, fast-paced role supporting K–12 students with autism and behavioral needs across Bucks County. As a member of a dynamic paraprofessional pool, you'll be ready to make an immediate impact, filling in where support is needed most: Quakertown, Levittown, Perkasie, and surrounding communities. This is a contract opportunity with the flexibility to accommodate frequent backfills, offering the chance to gain varied experience while supporting students who benefit greatly from your expertise.

Your workday will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled according to school needs between 6:45 AM and 4:01 PM. The role begins with a comprehensive, mandatory orientation week to set you up for success.

What you’ll bring:

Minimum one year paraprofessional experience in a school special education classroom supporting students with severe autism and behavioral needs
Proficiency in MDS, ADL, AS3, and behavioral interventions
Comfort working 1:1 and within highly structured behavioral environments
Ability and willingness to support students exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behaviors, including personal care (diapering, feeding, transfers)
Reside within 35 minutes of the assignment areas
Valid PA paraprofessional credentials, or ability to complete certification within 60 days

Key responsibilities:

Provide hands-on assistance and behavioral intervention for students with moderate-to-severe needs
Support individualized education plans alongside teachers and therapists
Maintain active supervision and safety interventions throughout the school day
Ensure a safe, respectful learning environment
