Float Pharmacist – Retail & Long-Term Care (Multi-Site)

Locations: Knoxville, TN | Maryville, TN | Powell, TN | Oak Ridge, TN

Employment Type: Full-Time

Travel Required: Yes – this is a dedicated float position supporting multiple pharmacy locations.

Must Be Willing to Float

Candidates must be available and willing to travel to and work at any of our pharmacy locations in Knoxville, Maryville, Powell, and Oak Ridge. This is not a single-location position.

Mac's Hometown Pharmacy is seeking a Full-Time Float Pharmacist to support both our retail and long-term care pharmacy operations across multiple locations.

This role offers variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to make an impact across several communities while working alongside a collaborative team committed to exceptional patient care.

Pharmacy Hours

Retail Pharmacies

• Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Long-Term Care Pharmacy

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Schedules will vary based on business needs and location coverage requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Provide pharmacist coverage across retail and long-term care pharmacy locations
• Counsel patients, residents, caregivers, and healthcare providers on medication use and safety
• Support and administer immunization clinics as needed
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure efficient workflow
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Adapt quickly to different teams, workflows, and patient populations

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in the state of Tennessee required
• Prior pharmacist experience required
• Retail pharmacy and/or long-term care pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with PioneerRx and/or Frameworks preferred, but not required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability and willingness to float between all locations required
• Reliable transportation required
