Investment Funds Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking an Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Charlotte, North Carolina .
This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 4–6 years of investment funds experience to join a nationally recognized Investment Funds practice representing private fund sponsors and investment managers across a broad range of alternative investment vehicles.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on the formation, structuring, and operation of private investment funds.
Draft and negotiate fund formation documents, organizational agreements, subscription materials, and related investment documentation.
Counsel investment managers on regulatory, governance, and operational matters affecting investment funds.
Represent sponsors of private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds, business development companies (BDCs), interval funds, closed-end funds, and other alternative investment vehicles.
Work closely with clients on fund launches, capital raising activities, and ongoing fund operations.
Collaborate with attorneys across tax, corporate, finance, and regulatory practices to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
Active Bar membership in good standing.
4–6 years of experience in investment management and private fund formation.
Experience representing private investment funds and investment managers is required.
Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in business development and client relationship management.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
