Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about optimizing building systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems that support vehicle production-including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, and process piping. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our facilities are safe, efficient, and built for scale.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

System Design & Optimization
• Design and specify mechanical systems for new and existing facilities.
• Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and reliability.
• Support layout planning and utility infrastructure for new equipment installations.

Project Execution
• Lead mechanical scope for facility expansion and upgrade projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
• Review and approve technical drawings, submittals, and commissioning plans.

Maintenance & Reliability
• Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues.
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies for critical systems.
• Monitor system health using BMS and CMMS tools.

Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local codes, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
• Support audits, inspections, and documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Promote a culture of safety and sustainability in all facility operations.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • PE license or EIT certification preferred.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, compressed air, chilled water, and utility systems.
• Experience in designing fluid and air piping systems, HVAC ductwork, and controls.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency practices and sustainability initiatives.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities
