Manager, Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability

This manager role focuses on building a robust safety culture across manufacturing and clinical supply operations at a biotech headquarters. The position requires developing EHS risk assessments, managing critical safety programs, and collaborating with quality, engineering, and facilities teams to drive compliance and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Warehouse Operations to strengthen safety culture and manage EHS risks
• Serve as subject matter expert for hazardous gas safety, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, and environmental compliance programs
• Lead ergonomic assessments and implement solutions to reduce musculoskeletal injury risks in office and manufacturing environments
• Conduct workplace inspections, compliance assessments, and field observations to identify opportunities and ensure regulatory adherence
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to strengthen organizational learning and prevent recurrence

Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or Master's with 2 years cGMP manufacturing EHSS experience, or Bachelor's with 4 years experience
• Expertise interpreting Cal/OSHA regulations and EHS standards for compliance
• Proven ability managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills
• Leadership experience in EHS programs within manufacturing or laboratory settings
• Degree in safety, industrial hygiene, chemical engineering, or life sciences preferred
