This role is in Textron System's Weapon Systems business area.About This Role: Senior System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support classified information systems. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments supporting the warfighters. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and develop solutions to solve infrastructure problems. Knowledge of Windows and Linux desktop and server operating systems is required. The Senior System Administrator works closely with other System Administrators and Information Security Team, and is responsible for information system patching, anti-virus updates and installations, vulnerability management, and user account management. The expectation for this role is automation of security logging and monitoring, automated patch management, and automated remediation of vulnerabilities to air gapped networks. A secondary focus of this role will be on the buildout and operation of standalone systems, networked systems, domain controlled systems, configuration of routers, switches, firewalls. Additional experience configuring geographically networked systems, installation and maintenance of Type 1 Hypervisors, virtual machine management, with a focus on network administration.Responsibilities:Setup and maintain systems support for software, hardware, and servers: test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to Classified Systems/NetworksPerform application updates and installs, operating system upgrades and patching, RAID configuration & monitoring, system backups & restoration, system image creation and disk cloningProvide timely technical support for users and work with them to solve existing problems to include software issues, account management and miscellaneous computing requirementsTroubleshooting to resolve technical problems on hardware, operating systems, and applicationsSupport Anti-virus Installation and MaintenanceAssist with incident response and backup processes and documentationQualifications:Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Due to the nature of the work, an Active Secret Clearance is required to start work. Further into the work, person onboarded will be upgraded to a Top Secret Clearance.A minimum of 4-6+ years' experience as a Network / System Administrator / ITExperience and familiarity with the following operating systems – Windows Server (2022/2025), Windows 11 Enterprise/SHB Images, Windows 11Experience with Linux operating system is a plus (RedHat 8, 9)Knowledge of encryption devices, servers, switches, routers, and firewallsKnowledge of network protocols, security, and troubleshootingHave and be able to retain relevant certification (e.g., Security+, Network+, CCNA MCSE, RHCE, etc.)Ability to lift 15 pounds.Microsoft Group Policy fundamentalsExperience with Nessus, platform automation tools, security automation toolsAbility to collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks.Ability to work independently and as part of a team to handle new tasks without supervisionPreferred Experience:Experience with classified computing environments is a plus.Managing the lifecycle of equipment in an infrastructure setting.Active Top Secret Clearance is a plus.Education: Associates or Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Current working knowledge and a minimum of (2-3) years relevant experience based on the duties described above in accordance with the DoD and/or Non-DoD security directives. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of security awareness among IS users. Strong technical, organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work in a team environment or independently. Strong interpersonal, reporting, and documentation skills are essential. Must hold or be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140/8570 Certification requirement (CompTIA Security+ CE, Network+, CCNA or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.Security Clearance: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
