About the Role The TAS (Therapeutic Area Specialist) is a critical role in our customer model to execute BMS’s aspiration to be the biologic‑pharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs). The role drives demand for BMS medicines within the portfolio for appropriate patients and engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience through deeper scientific dialogue aligned with label and using new ways of working and CE^3. The TAS is field‑based and will spend 100% of the time in the field with external customers. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Promotion Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner. Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients. Engages with and continuously maintains and grows a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas. Prepares and successfully implements comprehensive territory and account plans. Proactively uses available tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and dynamically inform call plans, providing feedback to leadership for continuous improvement. Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue Demonstrates scientific expertise and passion, using approved scientific resources and publications to present information to HCPs while ensuring medical accuracy. Conducts in‑office presentations (e.g., lunch & learns) and discusses product‑related scientific information with HCPs consistent with label. Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from approved lists and facilitating scheduling and logistics. Maintains a high level of expertise on emerging data for approved indications. Engages real‑time medical support through Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Proactively collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs. Gathers and shares relevant insights and information internally with the appropriate stakeholders to enable BMS to better serve its customers. Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct. Required Qualifications & Experience Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, or HCP/nurse roles. Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients. Experience building and maintaining strong credibility with key customers and the customer influence network via a customer‑centric mindset. Preferred experience in Oncology. Demonstrated account management skills, superior selling competencies, and a track record of meeting or exceeding goals. Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross‑functionally with a positive team mindset and can‑do attitude. Strong selling and promotional skills proven through a track record of performance. Segmentation of HCPs based on preferences and other factors to tailor communication and product presentations. Understanding of how to interpret and analyze data related to BMS products, customer preferences, and clinical data. Ability to use CE^3 to generate insights and perform dynamic call planning. Technological Agility Understanding and effective use of technology in healthcare business and interactions with HCPs. Proficiency with digital communication channels such as email, instant messaging, and video conferencing. Competency using CE^3 and other CRM tools to collect, enter, and manage data timely and compliantly. Effective use of Medical on Call technology. Ability to navigate and utilize the internet and online resources effectively. Teamwork / Enterprise Mindset Strong business acumen to analyze business and market drivers and develop, execute, and adjust business plans. Demonstrates learning agility and applies lessons to achieve better results. Track record of balancing individual drive and collaborative attitude. Integrity and good judgment to navigate role requirements in compliance with BMS policies. Driver qualification: at least 21 years of age, a valid driver’s license with good standing, and an acceptable driving risk level determined by BMS.
