RN, LPN candidates welcome!

Responsibilities:

• Administer FDA-approved medications for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder whether oral or injectable, as directed by prescriber’s orders and VICTA’s policies and procedures
• Handle and dispense medications in accordance with State, Federal and DEA regulations, ensuring compliance with security standards set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations for the storage of controlled substances
• Complete all required daily and monthly inventory reports
• Assess the presenting status of persons served receiving medication to ensure they are not impaired, and evaluate for withdrawal symptoms using COWS, CIWA, or other validated screenings
• Register vital signs, screen risk factors for HIV, Hepatitis C, Sexually Transmitted Infections, unintended pregnancy, and other conditions as appropriate
• Provide basic medical care services in line with the highest degree of licensure including urgent intakes for new admissions to OTP and other medical services for substance use disorder treatment
• Offer health education specific to the conditions and needs of the person served
• Triage medical issues and assess person served for changes in medical or mental status, reporting any concerns to prescriber
• Coordinate care with external providers, including but not limited to dose verification when requested by hospitals and facilities
• Triage other calls related to prescription information for persons served in substance use disorder or psychiatric services with hospitals, other providers, and pharmacies
• Work with interdisciplinary team to carry out the individualized care plan and to address questions, concerns, or new issues related to persons served
• Support all programs in serving medical needs of persons served
• Maintain professional and ethical behavior and attitude at all times
