Sr. Technical Recruiter at John Galt Staffing Principal Mechanical Engineer (Nuclear) Job Description Act as a leader in applying Cost Competitive Execution techniques and develop the most cost‑effective total project solution for the discipline engineering work Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts Develop and review specifications, including design criteria Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of difficult engineering complexity Serve as Supervising Lead providing guidance/supervision to other leads and function as mentor to less experienced engineers including performance appraisal input and counseling Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines Other Job Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, and 16 years of experience in equipment or systems related engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in the Nuclear Island area equipment. Experience in developing technical specifications and procurement documents for Nuclear Island support systems within Reactor Building and Radioactive Waste Building systems. Working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of nuclear power plants, including NRC regulations. Understanding of ASME NQA-1 standards for nuclear quality assurance and ability to implement and maintain quality assurance programs in compliance with ASME NQA-1 requirements. Working knowledge of ASME BPVC Section III design.
