Business Development Specialist, Women's Basketball

As the Business Development Specialist, Women’s Basketball , you’ll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team supporting Duke Women’s Basketball and contributing to revenue generation, fan engagement, and relationship development efforts. What You’ll Do Support the Director of Business Development in the execution of revenue‑generating initiatives and strategic growth opportunities for Duke Women’s Basketball. Assist in managing and advancing business development projects related to ticketing, premium experiences, donor engagement, corporate partnerships, NIL, and special events. Conduct research, benchmarking, and market analysis to identify new opportunities that support the program’s revenue and growth objectives. Develop presentations, reports, proposals, and briefing materials for meetings with donors, corporate partners, alumni, campus stakeholders, and external constituents. Track and manage revenue pipelines, prospect activity, and strategic initiatives to ensure timely follow‑up and execution. Coordinate communication and relationship management efforts with donors, corporate partners, alumni, and key stakeholders on behalf of the Director of Business Development. Assist in planning and executing premium hospitality experiences, donor cultivation events, networking opportunities, and special projects designed to advance program objectives. Assist with the oversight of project timelines, meeting preparation, follow‑up actions, and administrative processes associated with business development initiatives. Maintain departmental dashboards, reporting systems, and databases to support decision‑making and performance tracking. Support cross‑functional collaboration with ticketing, development, marketing, communications, NIL, and athletics administration to maximize program growth and operational efficiency. Serve as a key thought partner and project coordinator for emerging opportunities, special assignments, and strategic initiatives led by the Director of Business Development. Assist with other basketball and team‑related duties and activities, as assigned. Experience One year of experience in program administration or in academic, instructional, or counseling activities that involves planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of program activities and events. OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Skills Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated independent working, decision‑making, and project leadership experience. Proven effective management of multiple related areas. Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating, and personal interface skills. Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively. Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail. Minimum Qualifications Education: Completion of a bachelor’s degree program that provides analytical, communications and organizational skills. Experience: One year of experience in program administration or in academic, instructional, or counseling activities that involves planning, coordinating, and implementing a variety of program activities and events, OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Anticipated Pay Range Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00.
