Meat Department ManagerUp to $85,700 PER YEARGENERAL PURPOSE:The purpose of this position is to ensure that the meat department maintains quality standards and profitability. This person will train and mentor all meat associates and know all aspects of the meat department. This person will also determine production and inventory levels for the meat department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services the meat department providesResponsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the meat departmentConfirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad itemsEnsures the meat department is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearanceDelivers excellent customer service to all customersOrdering product and creating production sheets to meet the needs of the meat department based on past and projected salesCompletes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely mannerIs knowledgeable about all cuts of beef, pork, chicken, turkey, seafood, etc. and is able to cut all meatsGrinds fresh hamburger and sausageSets a professional and positive example to othersCommunicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Director of Fresh MeatEnsures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintainedWriting the meat department schedule to ensure coverage and meet labor goalsTeaches, mentor, and educates associates to help them be successful members of the teamProvides honest, direct and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement; assesses associate performance and influences promotion, discipline, etc.Promptly addresses and resolves associates' concerns and/or grievancesQuarterly inventory of all meat department productsMARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs other job-related duties as assigned.NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:Consistent and daily interaction with store associatesConsistent and daily interaction with customersTRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
