We are seeking a Principal Cloud Architect with substantial experience in assessing cloud maturity, setting up cloud landing zones based on well-architected frameworks, and driving transformational initiatives. This role is crucial in architecting cloud strategy and implementing robust cloud solutions, steering an organization's digital transformation journey.

Manager Notes: Evaluating how the candidate solves a challenging scenario and his thought process and communicating it clearly. Targeting the requirements in priority and not just giving general answers.

Also architect needs to have 10 years of experience on challenging projects that gives her/him a high-level vision. This person needs to also have a strong understanding of the details and what's happening under the hood. He/She should be proficient in two programming languages (web/python/go/Java/Javascript..) and can create Proof of concept solutions for clients fast and independently. Later on this person should be able to design the final design and break to tasks among team members and make sure they move on the blockers they face.

Responsibilities

1. Assess the organization's current cloud maturity, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
2. Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for cloud transformation, outlining the progression from the current to the desired state of cloud maturity.
3. Design and establish cloud landing zones in accordance with well-architected frameworks to ensure robust, secure, and efficient cloud environments.
4. Architect and implement comprehensive cloud solutions aligned with the organization's transformation and strategic growth objectives.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement cloud strategies, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
6. Design, automate, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure components using services from providers such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
7. Drive the cultural shift towards cloud-native practices, including serverless architectures, microservices, and containerization.
8. Develop and execute monitoring, metrics, and logging strategies to enhance application performance, security, and reliability in the cloud.
9. Mentor cloud and software engineering teams, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
10. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and cloud best practices to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of the industry.
11. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to cloud architectures and solutions.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience as a Cloud Architect, demonstrating a successful track record of leading organizational cloud transformations.
3. Proven experience in assessing an organization's cloud maturity, developing strategic transformation roadmaps, and setting up cloud landing zones based on well-architected frameworks.
4. In-depth knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and tools, with strong expertise in Terraform.
5. Proven experience in building self-service provisioning platforms and empowering teams to provision and manage infrastructure resources independently.
6. Deep understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and experience managing complex, multi-tier cloud applications.
7. Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
8. Strong knowledge of networking, security, and database concepts within a cloud context.
9. Expertise in designing and building cloud solutions for data platforms, including data storage, processing, and analytics.
10. Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
11. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to inspire and lead teams.
12. Relevant professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or similar (professional certifications in AWS, Azure, and GCP preferred).
13. Experience with serverless architectures and cloud-native technologies.
