●        Unit Information:

·        Beds: 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms

·        Minimum Years of Experience required – 2 years Critical Care (Resource Team requirement)

·        Will you accept a first-time traveler – Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)

●        Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

·        STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, thoracic surgery

·        CT Surgery to include CABG, Valve, Dissection

●        Patient Ratios:

·        RN: 1:2

●        Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

·         RN:  BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

●        Skills required:

·        Management of vasoactive medications, various surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, CRRT

·        Invasive lines, including arterial lines, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers

·        Management of invasive devices, including IABP, Impella (flexible on devices 8/25/25-strongly preferred)

●        Support within the Department:

·        Charge nurse – may or may not have patient assignment

·        IV/VAT Team? yes

·        RT 24/7

·        Intensivist 24/7 (unit based)

●        Technology/Equipment:

·        EMR: Epic

·        IV Pump: Alaris

·        Med dispensing: Omnicell

·        Monitors: Phillips

 ●        Floating: If yes, where?

·        Within region and scope of practice

·          Region 1 -  Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

▪         If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

●        Orientation (facility and unit) :

·        NEO

·        2 days departmental

●        Scheduling:

·        Weekend rotation: every other

·        No call

·        Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays

·        RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours

·        Shift times: 0645-1915 and 1845- 0715

·        Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
