Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Urbana, Illinois.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/14/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 14, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an inpatient overflow unit requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience.Details\n \n Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital\n 36 hours per week, 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00AM - 7:30PM\n 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule\n 3 holiday shifts required per year\n No on-call requirements\n Uses Epic EMR for charting\n Requirements\n \n Active Illinois RN license (temporary license accepted)\n Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)\n Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required\n ASN required, BSN preferred\n Level 1 Trauma experience required\n Epic charting experience required\n Skilled in documentation, critical thinking, medication administration, interdisciplinary collaboration, and time management\n Additional Information\n \n Provides direct patient care including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education\n Delegates and validates completion of care tasks assigned to healthcare technicians\n Participates in bedside shift reporting and maintains updated patient communication boards\n Focuses on patient safety practices including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation protocols\n Supports timely admission/discharge processes for observation status patients\n Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered\n RTO may not exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract\n Contingent workers may not remain on assignment longer than 1 year without a 6-month break in service before returning\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-745805.
