The RN will provide safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care while managing an assigned group of patients throughout the shift. The ideal candidate is a strong critical thinker who works well independently and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities\n \n Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. \n Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs. \n Implement nursing interventions and modify the plan of care based on ongoing patient assessment. \n Monitor patient conditions, interpret vital signs, and recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient status. \n Administer medications following the 5 Rights of Medication Administration: right patient, right medication, right route, right dose, and right time. \n Complete and document required nursing care, assessments, care plans, patient education, hourly rounding, admissions, and discharges. \n Ensure physician/provider orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. \n Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Med/Surg nursing standards. \n Participate in bedside shift report, including patient updates, safety checks, and communication board updates. \n Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to healthcare technicians (HCTs) and follow up to ensure completion. \n Maintain patient safety by following fall precautions, pressure injury prevention measures, isolation precautions, and safe ambulation practices. \n Respond promptly to patient call lights and appropriately triage patient requests and medical needs. \n Facilitate timely testing, treatment, admissions, and discharges, particularly for Observation patients. \n Effectively manage time and prioritize care in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment. \n Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, technicians, patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team. \n Promote interdisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered care, and a positive healing environment. \n Identify and report safety hazards or incidents and take appropriate action to protect patients and staff. \n Maintain a professional and positive attitude while contributing to a healthy work environment. \n Participate in departmental competencies and maintain current knowledge and clinical skills. \n Provide constructive feedback and collaborate with colleagues to support professional development. \n What We're Looking For\n \n Active Registered Nurse (RN) license \n Recent Med/Surg experience \n Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical judgment skills \n Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize care effectively \n Strong communication and teamwork skills \n Commitment to patient safety and quality care \n Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment \n Unit Expectations\n \n Bedside shift report at the beginning of each shift \n Consistent patient rounding and timely response to call lights \n Accurate and timely documentation \n Safe medication administration \n Effective delegation and follow-up \n Efficient management of admissions, discharges, and patient testing \n Strong focus on patient safety and quality outcomes \n \n About GQR Healthcare\n \n GQR’s Healthcare team specializes in connecting experts within the industry to highly skilled healthcare professionals across the US market. \n \n In the competitive healthcare market, we recognize that the industry’s common goals of improved quality of care and patient outcomes are wholly reliant upon the professionals directly supporting these initiatives.
