Position / Job Summary The Development Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and logistical support to the Dallas College Foundation's development team, ensuring smooth execution of fundraising activities and donor engagement. This role assists frontline fundraisers, supports annual and planned giving programs, and contributes to prospect research efforts. Additionally, the Development Coordinator serves as a backup for gift processing to maintain continuity and accuracy in donor records and acknowledgments. By collaborating closely with the administrative support team, this position helps enhance donor experience, uphold compliance standards, and advance the Foundation's philanthropic mission.
The Development Coordinator will report to the Director of Donor Services. Like all Dallas College Foundation (DCF) employees, this individual is a keeper of the Dallas College Foundation culture of philanthropy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Experience with gift processing or nonprofit event coordination. Familiarity with prospect research tools and practices (aligned with APRA guidelines). Advanced skills in Raiser's Edge or Blackbaud products; experience with basic reporting or dashboards. Bilingual or multilingual capability.

Exhibits expertise in developing and maintaining positive relationships with individuals, including executives, donors and internal stakeholders and leadership. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills that demonstrate professional and personal integrity with a commitment to the mission, value, and goals of Dallas College and the Dallas College Foundation. Adhere to ethical and confidentiality guidelines of both Dallas College and the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA); and adhere to local, state, and federal laws governing fundraising and taxation. Knowledge and experience in the nature and dimensions of philanthropy, motivations for giving, research and cultivation practices, face-to-face solicitation, gifts processing and fundraising reporting. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with demonstrated ability to create, implement and monitor policies and procedures. Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with the ability to serve as an advocate/spokesperson for Dallas College and Dallas College Foundation and successfully tailor communications dependent on audience. Strong and knowledgeable customer service skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operations for the development team, ensuring timely execution of tasks and deliverables.
- Support frontline fundraisers with donor briefings, meeting materials, and follow-up communications.
- Assist annual, major, and planned giving programs with campaign logistics, mailings, and performance tracking.
- Conduct basic prospect research and support the Director of Donor Services in preparing donor profiles in alignment with APRA Data Ethics and organizational policy.
- Serve as backup for gift processing to enter gifts, generate acknowledgments, and maintain accurate donor records in compliance with AFP standards.
- Manage scheduling and logistics for donor meetings and development activities, including invitations, agendas, and materials.
- Maintain accurate records in Raiser's Edge and other tools, ensuring data quality and consistent coding for campaigns, funds, and appeals.
- Support stewardship efforts by coordinating personalized donor communications and small fulfillment items while adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
- All employees are required to complete a minimum of 19 professional development hours.
- Perform other duties not listed as assigned.
- High school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience OR associate/bachelor's degree OR 4 years of cumulative job-specific experience.
- Valid driver's license for occasional off-site travel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work outside typical hours on an as-needed basis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with donor database systems (Raiser's Edge preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to respond promptly and professionally.
- Problem-solving skills with ability to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in handling donor information.
- Official transcripts required.
