Senior Principal Scientist, Veterinary Pathology Board Certified

A senior anatomic pathologist position at a research-intensive biopharmaceutical company's nonclinical safety department in Pennsylvania. The role involves leading toxicological pathology evaluations, interpreting drug safety data, and collaborating across cross-functional teams on immunology and biologics programs from discovery through late-stage development.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized histopathological evaluations to characterize drug safety profiles
- Analyze postmortem data independently, interpret results, and assess clinical significance
- Provide scientific leadership in defining toxicity mechanisms and assessing human relevance
- Lead drug development team pathology activities and serve as safety department lead
- Contribute to developing novel biomarkers and predictive safety models
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- 10+ years pathology experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO
- ACVP or ECVP board certification in anatomic pathology
- Residency in anatomic or toxicologic pathology
- Proficiency in histomorphologic evaluation and toxicology study interpretation
- Strong collaborative skills and cross-functional communication ability
- PhD in immunology, toxicology, pathology, or related field (preferred)
