Business Development Lead - Marine Fuel SaaS

The Role:

We are currently looking for a Business Development Lead – Marine Fuel SaaS to join the ENGINE team. You will be responsible for building out and owning the commercial strategy and growing the platform’s customer base.

ENGINE is a market intelligence and bunker procurement SaaS platform built for buyers of marine fuel. It is a digital offering developed by the Navig8 Group, which is one of the world’s largest tanker operators, that has been bolstered further by the 80% acquisition by ADNOC L&S. With an entrepreneurial spirit at our core, we continue to expand our existing commercial shipping, fuel trading, and technology businesses. The Group has evolved with a unique culture in which our common goal is to deliver, optimise, and adapt whilst maintaining a fun, social, and energetic working space.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Own outbound and new-business development across shipowners, operators, charterers, bunker buyers and trading houses. 


• Leverage your existing relationships in the shipping/marine fuel industry, alongside the group’s established relationships, to open conversations and generate qualified pipeline. 


• Meet prospects in person and virtually — conferences, site visits, industry events. 


• Handle objections and competitive positioning conversations with real command of the market landscape. 


• Work closely with the Head of Product and the Marketing team to shape go-to-market messaging and prioritize features based on what you're hearing in the field. 


• Manage the full sales cycle.


• Drive measurable growth in new-logo customers and revenue. 


• Prior experience selling into shipping/maritime or a related B2B SaaS environment. 


• Solid understanding or background of the shipping industry, ideally marine fuels/bunkering with an existing network.


• Proactive and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy. 


• Excellent customer service, communication and relationship building skills. 


• Comfortable travelling to meet existing and prospective customers face to face.
