The primary duties of a Power Delivery Project Manager include planning, developing, executing, and closing out all aspects of Power Delivery projects of all sizes and complexity, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, and quality control, schedule, and budget management. Projects may involve substations, system protection/planning, transmission lines, distribution lines, and associated strategic services, including routing/siting, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, and construction management. Delivery model of projects may include traditional Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC), or other models, but responsibility of this position is focused on the engineering and ancillary services described above. Duties may also include building local teams and/or leveraging existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world class services to clients and engaging in business development activities to support existing and new clients.Specific duties include:Understanding and application of basic project management tools and techniques including the following: project life cycle, client goals and objectives, contract terms and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope/schedule/budget, project initiation, project planning, financial management and controls, including earned value, internal/external communication, team management, change management, and project closeout.Independently coordinates the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout an entire project life cycle.May also be responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services.Leads the QA/QC process on projects and is committed to delivering world class quality.Works independently and may direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more transmission APM's, Project Engineers and/or junior design staff.Performs client management, project management and/or technical support activities.Represents HDR to support marketing and proposal development for new opportunities.Some travel for business development and execution may be required.Preferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or Engineer In Training (EIT) and active commitment to obtain P.E.Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to obtain.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field7 years related experienceA minimum of 2 years project management experienceAbility to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustOur Commitment:As employee owners, we all have a role in creating an inclusive environment where each of us is welcomed, valued, respected and empowered to bring our authentic selves to work every day.
