Metacomet Construction, an affiliate of Freestone, is a New York City‑based, fully licensed general contractor engaged in full building construction, renovation, owner representation, and property maintenance. Position Overview Metacomet Construction is seeking a Construction Field Coordinator to join our growing team. This hands‑on, field‑focused role ensures the quality, readiness, and compliance of unit turnovers and capital improvement projects across our portfolio. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and property management teams to meet Metacomet’s high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and presentation. Key Responsibilities Perform field inspections: conduct detailed punch‑list inspections on unit turns and renovations, verifying that all work meets project specifications, client expectations, and regulatory standards, and manage on‑site logistics such as key lockboxes. Execute minor repairs: complete small corrective items—including paint touch‑ups, cleaning, caulking, and other finish details—to ensure units are 100% turn‑ready. Quality control & documentation: maintain rigorous quality assurance across all active sites using tools like OpenSpace, Jobber, Excel, Outlook, and other reporting software. Reporting & communication: deliver clear, detailed field reports to internal project managers and clients, outlining deficiencies, completion percentages, and recommended follow‑up actions. Resident interaction: professionally interface with residents and tenants in occupied units to communicate project updates while minimizing disruption. Compliance & safety: ensure all site activities adhere to DOB, EPA, and local law standards while keeping safety and compliance documentation up to date. Qualifications Proven experience in construction project management, site supervision, or quality assurance roles. Strong knowledge of residential renovation processes, NYC construction site rules, punch‑list management, and finish standards. Ability to perform light handyman or maintenance work to close out punch‑list items efficiently. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents. Excellent organizational and communication skills with a focus on documentation accuracy and client transparency. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills for interacting with residents and property management. Proficiency with inspection tools, mobile reporting platforms, and plan/design interpretation. Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership over site quality. Licenses & Certifications (Preferred) EPA Section 608 Technician Certification City‑Licensed Fire Extinguisher Inspector EPA‑Certified Lead Inspector Licensed Mold Assessor / Abatement Contractor Additional Information This position is field‑intensive and requires a hands‑on, detail‑oriented professional capable of independently managing multiple active sites. Responsibilities may also include assisting with final handoffs, key management, and coordinating site readiness for property management and leasing teams. Normal daily physical activities to include walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, often on uneven surfaces. Comfort with bending, kneeling, and reaching to inspect construction areas or issues. Basic hand‑eye coordination to handle documents, tablets, or tools while on‑site. Must be able to read reports and use computer, phone, and other general office equipment.
