Position Summary

The Content Creator for the Mayors Office of Communications is responsible for filming and editing high-quality videos that document the Mayors engagements events and initiatives.

Reporting to the Digital Director this position plays a pivotal role in visually shaping the public image of the Mayor and the administration by producing compelling videos for official use across digital platforms publications press materials and archival records.

Film and edit high-quality video content for social media website and internal use.

Collaborate with the Digital Director and communications team to develop creative concepts and storyboards.

Capture both planned and candid footage at events press conferences and community engagements.

Manage and maintain video equipment ensuring readiness for shoots.

Adapt content for multiple platforms (horizontal vertical short-form long-form).

Archive and organize video assets for easy access and re-use. Required Competencies Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge

Strong understanding of videography principles including lighting audio or composition Advanced knowledge of film equipment.

Basic knowledge of video-hosting platforms including YouTube and other social media. Skills

Proficient in video editing software such as Adobe Premier FinalCut Pro or other editing software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organization skills.

Proficient in the operations of cameras and other film equipment. Abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Ability to adapt to changes on short notice.

Ability to attend events throughout the city sometimes outside of standard business hours.

Ability to think creatively and propose original ideas.

Ability to assess target audiences and adapt content accordingly.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree in videography media studies or related field preferred.

At least 3 years of professional videography experience.
