The Chef/Kitchen Manager leads a small kitchen team of 1-5 members, overseeing daily kitchen operations to deliver high-quality culinary experiences. Reporting directly to the owner, this role focuses on menu planning, inventory control, staff supervision, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. Interaction with customers is minimal, while managing relationships with regional suppliers ensures smooth order and inventory flow.
Responsibilities
- Plan and develop menus that meet quality and customer preferences
- Control inventory and manage orders with regional suppliers
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff performance and schedules
- Oversee food preparation and ensure consistent quality control
- Maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Manage kitchen safety and cleanliness standards
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Experience in inventory management and order processing
- Proven staff supervision and leadership skills
- Expertise in menu planning and culinary techniques
- Effective problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in kitchen management
