Summary

Pediatric CICU RN opportunity in Houston providing specialized care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients, including congenital heart disease and post-surgical recovery. This role supports a newly developed Pediatric Cardiac ICU program focused on advanced pediatric critical care, patient safety, and family-centered care.

Requirements

• Active RN license required
• Minimum 1 year recent PICU RN experience required
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Experience with:
• • Pediatric cardiac patients
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Pediatric post-operative care preferred
  • CV Pediatric ICU experience highly preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing required
• BSN enrollment required within 6 months
• BSN completion required within 24 months

Certifications

• BLS within 30 days
• ACLS within 6 months
• PALS within 6 months
• CCRN preferred

Shift

• Full-time nights
• Rotating weekends required
• Shift options:
• • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 11:00 PM – 11:00 AM

Pay & Benefits

• $42.03 – $65.10/hr

• 14-bed unit
• Pediatric patients age 1+
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
• Projected 50–70 cardiac cases in first year
