Job Summary and Responsibilities As an Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician, you will be responsible for the performance of non‑invasive cardiovascular procedures. You will work closely with other members of the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies, while maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. Transport patients to and from the department to complete procedures. Order, deliver, and retrieve equipment and supplies for the unit. Identify life‑threatening arrhythmias and/or rhythm changes, and communicate them to the physician and/or Registered Nurse. Perform the following Electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures: 12‑18 lead EKG, Signal Average EKG, Pediatric EKG, and Rhythm Strip. Be competent in holter application, removal, and scanning. Perform multi‑stage stress tests. Assist physicians with the completion of exams and studies. Collect, label, and deliver lab specimens. Assist with maintenance of the patient log and schedule. Qualifications 1 year of experience as an EKG Technician. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. We are an equal opportunity employer.
