Supervisor, Cardiac Device Tech - Cardiology Clinic - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

Responsibilities Serves as Back Office Clinical Supervisor, supervising cardiac device technicians, which may include Support Coordinators. Supervises at least two full‑time staff; coordinates personnel actions such as performance evaluations, time‑off requests, staff disciplinary actions, hiring, and termination. Preceptor to new staff; trains all cardiac device technicians to ensure compliance with hospital policies. Generates daily cardiac device technician assignments, arranges staff coverage, and monitors status of pending items. Acts as liaison between supervisor and subordinates for communication of information, assignments, priorities, and special requests. Supervises the USC cardiac remote monitoring program: ensures staff adhere to communication protocols for urgent alerts and routine communication, and maintains a timely process for all cardiac device technician billing (remote monitoring, outpatient, in‑patient, OR, and radiology). Participates in monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of patient care, contributing objective data regarding performance of other clinical staff members. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with infection control policies. Coordinates staffing to ensure breaks and meal periods are covered; provides coverage as needed. Coordinates education of device‑related knowledge and technology to other device technicians, including introduction to new technologies brought to Keck. Oversees special procedures/projects for the department: tracking product recalls/advisories, working with Radiology to support MRI patients, and float hours when appropriate. Performs other administrative/analytical work as required, including preparing meeting agendas and other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years in a related role. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Demonstrated ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills. Comfortable with computers and medical terminology. In‑depth knowledge of all insurance types, including government health programs. Must adopt Keck Service Credo and Known Service Standards and Values. Preferred Qualifications Lead or supervisory experience. Licenses & Certifications Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date (required within LA City only).
