Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM Must-Have: Experience in labor, induction, scheduled C-sections, unscheduled C-sections, SROM, PPROM, preeclampsia, triage, and high-risk deliveries. Ability to operate Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitoring systems, and CADD epidural pumps. Familiarity with using Hillrom labor beds and Draeger radiant warmers. Description: The position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. The nurse will provide care for patients during labor and delivery. The nurse will assist with various procedures, including scheduled and unscheduled C-sections. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients in both labor and triage settings. Nurses are expected to maintain appropriate patient ratios as per staffing guidelines. The unit aims for a ratio of 1:1 for active labor and 1:2 for non-active labor. Triage patients may have a ratio of up to 1:3 as needed. The team will face high volumes, occasionally necessitating additional responsibilities. Floating to various departments may be required as part of the role. The nurse will engage in patient education and discharge planning. Experience with childbirth education, neonatal care, and maternal-fetal health is essential. The candidate should be prepared for busy and fast-paced work environments.
