This role supports commissioning, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration activities across process, utility, and manufacturing systems at a highly regulated manufacturing facility. You will perform hands-on calibration and instrumentation work, contribute to reliable plant operations, and gain extensive exposure to GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environments. • Perform process technical calibrations on critical instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, flow, conductivity, and pH devices.
• Execute calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities on manufacturing, utility, and process equipment and instruments.
• Support commissioning and startup of new or modified systems by performing loop checks, transmitter verification, and instrumentation functional testing.
• Diagnose and resolve instrumentation and electrical issues using strong troubleshooting fundamentals and a systematic approach.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and instrument documentation to plan and perform calibration and maintenance tasks.
• Document all calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities accurately and clearly in accordance with strong documentation practices and applicable procedures.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) where applicable to record work, manage work orders, and track calibration schedules.
• Work in compliance with GMP/GxP or other highly regulated standards (such as FDA, nuclear, military, oil and gas, food and beverage, or metrology environments) as required by the site.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals to learn and apply best practices in instrumentation, process systems, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to consistent project activity by completing assigned tasks safely, on time, and to high quality standards, supporting future growth opportunities for the team.

• At least 2 years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, metrology, I&E, or maintenance.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting equipment and instruments in manufacturing, industrial, utility, military, pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage, or similar environments.
• Strong documentation practices, with the ability to accurately record calibration and maintenance activities.
• Fundamental electrical troubleshooting skills applied to instrumentation and related systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, and instrument documentation.
• Experience performing process technical calibrations, particularly in temperature, pressure, flow, conductivity, and pH.
• Demonstrated experience working in highly regulated environments such as GMP, nuclear, military, FDA-regulated, oil and gas, food and beverage, or metrology settings.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and instruments to identify and correct issues.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems relevant to instrumentation and controls.
• Ability to perform loop checks and work with transmitters as part of commissioning and calibration activities.

• Experience with pressure calibration using appropriate standards and equipment.
• Experience with temperature calibration of sensors, probes, and related instrumentation.
• Experience with flow instrumentation calibration and verification.
• Experience with conductivity instrumentation calibration and maintenance.
• Experience with pH instrumentation calibration and adjustment.
• Experience performing loop calibrations and verifying 4–20 mA transmitters.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience working in GMP/GxP environments and understanding of associated documentation and compliance expectations.
• OSHA or similar safety training applicable to industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Backgrounds well-suited for this role include Calibration Technician, Metrology Technician, Instrument Technician, Instrumentation Technician, I&E Technician, Process Controls Technician, Military PMEL/TMDE, Pharmaceutical Maintenance Technician, Oil and Gas Measurement Technician, and Utilities Technician.
• Interest in developing a long-term career in calibration, metrology, instrumentation, and controls.
• Motivation to learn troubleshooting, instrumentation, and process systems from experienced professionals.

This position is fully onsite at a large manufacturing facility five days per week. You will work in a highly regulated GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment that includes process, utility, and production systems. The role involves hands-on work with process instrumentation, electrical systems, and manufacturing equipment in plant and utility areas. You will use calibration equipment, technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and computerized maintenance management systems as part of daily activities. The environment emphasizes safety, compliance, and precise documentation, and offers consistent project activity with ongoing growth opportunities and exposure to advanced calibration and instrumentation technologies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
