Manufacturing Engineer – Robotic Welding & Automation

Position Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve automated manufacturing operations in a high-volume production environment.

This position will support the Robotic Welding group , providing regular hands-on interaction with industrial robots and automated welding equipment. The role offers an opportunity to grow into a more specialized Robotic Welding Engineering position in the future.

The focus is broader manufacturing engineering, process improvement, automation support, equipment implementation, and production troubleshooting , rather than dedicated robot programming.

Core Responsibilities

• Support and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on robotic welding and automated production equipment
• Troubleshoot and optimize industrial robots, with ABB preferred ; FANUC, Motoman/Yaskawa, or similar experience also considered
• Assist with robot programming, recovery, optimization, and production support
• Identify and implement improvements to increase quality, throughput, productivity, and efficiency
• Support new equipment installations, production launches, and manufacturing process validation
• Troubleshoot robotic, mechanical, electrical, equipment, and process-related issues
• Support fixture improvements, tooling modifications, TCP calibration, and preventive maintenance activities
• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, downtime, and opportunities for improvement
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and process standards
• Support compliance with manufacturing quality and safety requirements

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
• Hands-on experience supporting industrial robots
• Experience with ABB robots preferred
• FANUC, Motoman/Yaskawa, or similar robotic experience is also acceptable
• Working knowledge of robotic welding processes , including MIG/GMAW/FCAW
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD models
• Experience with manufacturing process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
