Associate Market Clinical Director

ChenMed is seeking an Associate Market Clinical Director to lead and manage Clinical Directors within an assigned market, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes and operational success. This role combines direct patient care as a PCP with significant leadership responsibilities, including performance management, talent development, and fostering a strong clinical-operations synergy. The successful candidate will contribute to the rapid expansion of a unique primary care model focused on transforming healthcare for seniors.

Practice Info

• Directly supervises, performance manages, and trains Clinical Directors within an assigned market.
• Accountable for center performance objectives, P&L, growth, and culture.
• A portion of time is allocated to direct patient care as a PCP and/or other clinical duties.
• The remainder of time is allocated to leadership responsibilities including Clinical Director performance, engagement, building a strong clinical-operations synergy and culture.
• Allocation of time is dependent on PCP capacity, market needs, size of centers, patient membership, and Regional President direction.
• Regular presence in the centers under direct management.

Responsibilities

• Direct accountability for clinical outcomes and day-to-day management of Medical Directors in multiple centers within the assigned market.
• Ensure successful clinical operations and meeting/exceeding plan market earnings.
• Manage, mentor, and coach Medical Directors to deliver outstanding clinical outcomes.
• Oversee and facilitate talent development of PCPs, NPs, and Medical Directors, including leading facilitated practice, conducting 1:1s, and executing leadership development plans.
• Cultivate a center-level physician culture aligned with the ChenMed core model, values, and service standards.
• Participate in recruiting and interviewing PCP and specialist candidates.
• Establish and support the development of successful relationships with payers, specialists, the community, and hospitals.
• Monitor and support overall market culture, responding with urgency to workplace concerns.

Compensation

• $257,939 - $368,485 Salary
• This position may also be eligible for bonuses or commissions.

Requirements

• MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics or similar specialty required.
• A minimum of 2 years' clinical experience required; 3 years preferred.
• Strongly prefer one (1) year's previous experience as Medical Director or equivalent with a Medicare or Medicaid patient population.
• Board eligibility is required.
• Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics or similar is preferred.
• Current, active license to practice medicine in State of employment.
• High performing physician with a proven track record of clinical leadership experience.
• Must have completed all internal physician training and have attained partnership.
• Experience with population risk management or complex chronic disease care management.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally and nationally up to 30% of the time.
